Pre-Treatment

Post-Treatment

No Retin-A products or applications for 72 hours prior to treatment.
Talk to your doctor if you use blood thinners because blood thinners should not be used for 72 before your microneedling procedure.
No Auto-immune therapies or products for 12 hours prior to treatment.
7 days before your treatment, avoid the sun as much as possible in your treatment area.
When you arrive for your treatment, make sure your makeup is removed and your skin is clean.
If an active or extreme acne breakout occurs before treatment, please contact the office.

After your microneedling procedure, it’s important to avoid the sun as much as possible.
If possible, completely stay out of the direct sun for 10 days after or more, after your microneedling treatment.
It’s also important not to use sunscreen on your treatment area for at least 12 hours after the treatment. Some sunscreen products contain toxic elements that may be damaging to your freshly microneedled skin.
For 72 hours after your appointment, avoid intense exercise.
Do not apply make-up for at least 72 hours after the treatment.
If you have a history of cold sores or acne breakouts, you may get a response from your microneedling treatment. However, your doctor can recommend medication for you.
After a few hours after your treatment, wash your face with tepid water by massaging it gently to get rid of any treatment products or blood.
For the first 3-4 days the skin will be very dry and feel tight.
You may notice redness and swelling for the first 2 days after your treatment.
To reduce the post-treatment swelling, sleep on your back with your head slightly elevated.
If it’s comfortable, you can continue using your regular skincare routine, 2-3 days after your treatment.
For 10-14 days after your microneedling procedure, do not use toners that are alcohol-based.

How does Microneedling work?

We will start the treatment off by cleansing and toning your skin with some of our medical grade products. We will then numb the face for 20 minutes then start treatment.
We sterilize the face with betadine solution and begin the process of microneedling.
We go over the skin with horizontal lines, vertical lines and circles to create channels in the skin. These channels will send the collagen and cells to the surface to help retexture the skin and help with collagen stimulation.
This treatment will take about an hour and you will have a downtime of up to 4 days. This treatment is meant for all skin types, but if you are a skin type 3 or above you will have to be on a brightening cream for 1 month before doing the treatment.

How long is the downtime for Microneedling?

Microneedling has a downtime of about 4 days depending on the depth of your specific procedure. For little over half a week, you may look a bit red and inflamed – and some people experience bruising.
