Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Chemical Peel?

Chemical Peel is a treatment that is done to help remove dead skin from the outer layer of the epidermis.

This treatment will help with hyperpigmentation (dark spots), fine lines and wrinkles, acne, acne scarring, melisma, and congested pores.

A Chemical Peel treatment is done once a month and it is meant for all skin types with caution on patients that have darker pigment (see “Do Chemical Peels work for every skin type”).

Do Chemical Peels work for every skin type?

If you have experienced hyperpigmentation in the past or if you are a skin type 4 or higher you will have to be on retinol for 4 weeks before doing this treatment.

How many Chemical Peel treatments do you need?

Depending on your skin concerns you may need up to 6-8 Chemical Peel treatments.

What can I expect from a Chemical Peel session?

A Chemical Peel procedure will be done by one of our aestheticians certified in Chemical Peels.

The first step in a Chemical Peel is cleaning or toning the skin using medical-grade products.

This treatment is based on your concerns so the depth of your Chemical Peel will depend on what your aesthetician believes is most effective to address your concerns.

Your first peel will not include a deep-depth Chemical Peel just so your aesthetician can see how your skin reacts to the peel.

The peel will be applied to the skin and left on, with each layer taking about 5 minutes.

After your treatment, you will experience some redness. Each chemical peel, and person, is different so if you do not peel do not get alarmed – you are still experiencing a great treatment.

How long does a Chemical Peel take?

A Chemical Peel treatment in total will last about 30 minutes.
